Not sure what the"hurt,sore" finger is about but Ill address the product I am using which is the Otterbox Defender;
Its durable and pretty much water resistant. I have dropped it in mud puddles accidently and picked it up and nothing got in. Its bigger thank most but has to be. This isnt a case to put in shirt pocket etc...but i really dont think that this is what it is made for. This is for those who have a job where you want to protect your phone from all sorts of elements. Or if you have little kids who play games on it to keep it safe from drops,smudges etc.
I have never nor any of my many co-workers who have this have ever had problems with running the there finger over the screen and when hitiing the edge have sore fingers, thats a first. You think the holster is defective but then when you actually put it on CORRECTLY its as snug as you know what. It isnt supposed to face out, it faces in and the little indentions fit perfectly. It does its job. Its not slim line like few people think it is. Its bigger than most. Hope this helps....

I wanted this cover because I destroyed my other smart phone from dropping it so much. This one has the same black rubbery cover but with a cuter pink hard plastic case. This cover is all inclusive... it has a screen protector, hard plastic case, soft cover and a holster. I've dropped it a couple times already and it's survived!

This is my 3rd... yes THIRD Otterbox case I have purchased. My wife and I both have iPhones and LOVE the Otterbox for its protection due to the rugged design. I am very hard my phones due to my job... and this was the perfect answer to my problems. I too have dropped my iphone in puddles, mud, snow ect... never any damage... even had it fall 10-15 ft off a scissor lift I was in.... no damage,(lucky on how it landed).
The reason we have 3 now... variation! I have a yellow/black... my wife has the white and now this one.... you can swap the rubber housings to intermix colors... pink/white, white/pink, pink/black... ect... We love them!
Also... if you are having issues with your docking... there is a nice dock extender that works with a slight bit of modifying to clear the otterbox opening for the plugin.... just search 'Dock Extender for iPhone' and look at the reviews to understand which one fits the best for otterbox!

This is the best case. No worries if you drop your iphone. My 3 year old plays on my phone and I am never worried if she drops it. The pink/black combo is great. Makes the case a little more girly! Would recommend to a friend and woudl purchase again. I dont think I will own another case.

I bought this case at the AT&T store when I bought my iPhone. Wish I would of checked online first, the case is a lot cheaper here on Amazon.
I absolutely love this case. It gives unbelievable protection to the phone, I have dropped my phone on concrete and no problems! The case is bulky, but I got it for the protection not the size. I tend to be rough on my phones and work a job that it is at constant risk of being bumped, dropped etc. and I am not disappointed with this case.
I have had no problem with any kind of finger fatigue/irritation as mentioned in a previous review and have also had no problems with the holster although I tend to use it without the holster. The phone is meant to be put in backwards (screen facing in) when in the holster and when in correctly it does not fall out.
