Product Description NOISE REDUCING AUX AUDIO CABLE CABL
Amazon.com Product Description Have you tried using a phone connecting cable in your car for your MP3 player or SmartPhone and been bothered by a "hum" that accompanies the sound? The best way to avoid that bothersome humming is to connect directly into your car's AUX port so you get pure sound without interference from the car's electrical system. The Kensington Noise Reducing Car Audio AUX Cable lets you do that easily and efficiently. | The direct AUX connection and noise reducing technology of the Kensington AUX Audio Cable combine to deliver clear, clean sound through your car's stereo. The 4 foot long, 3.5mm audio cable is braided for long term durability and to keep it from tangling. The cable plugs into your car's AUX port and into the headphone jack of your portable device. And you're in business. The only humming you'll hear will be your own! Note: Your car must be equipped with an auxiliary port (most newer models are) and your device must come with a 3.5 mm headset jack. Features - Reduces hum from your car's electrical system

| Customer Reviews: Works as advertised July 15, 2010 Anodyne (Durham, NC) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Does what it claims, if you hear hissing or feedback when running your iPod (or, I presume, any other audio device) through your aux jack this should clear it up. In my case I use a Kensington LiquidAux running into a cassette adapter (my car predates aux jacks). I listen mainly to audiobooks and had an issue with clipping and distortion of the spoken high frequencies. Once I installed this between the cassette adapter and the LiquidAux, the problem disappeared. I also like the braided cord better than the usual plastic/vinyl cord you see, it feels sturdier.
The only thing I would change is the length of the cord. I chose this device over the competing product by Griffin because the cord was 2' shorter - and even the 4' cord of this device is overkill for my setup. I have about 3' of extra cord coiled up inside my console. Of course depending on your situation maybe you need the extra cord, but I didn't. The other thing to remember is that you will likely need at least one 1/8" adapter (I needed 2, because of the cassette adapter) in order to plug this device into a LiquidAux or similar system. If you don't buy the adapters here, try Radio Shack.
Exactly what I wanted August 2, 2010 Nhut Pham (Sunnyvale, CA) I was having a problem with a ground loop in my car, a 2006 MINI Cooper. The headunit in this car will not recognize many devices plugged into the AUX input when they are charged through the cigarette lighter, because of the ground loop. Others have suggested ground loop isolator circuits, but most of the ones I found were rather large and bulky. This item fixed the problem for me and is a well made product.
The cable is sleeved, works plugged in either direction, and has two different plugs, a smaller more discreet one (I'm glad that they did this) and a larger one that can go into the headunit. At 4 feet, the cable is long enough for me to hide inside the dash of my car and only have as much cable showing as I need to.
I do not notice any change in sound quality using this product. I didn't have any whine or noise passing through my aux line as it was, but my sound is no more colored or discolored from what it was before.
I bought through spacetoshop, item was received on monday after ordering thursday, and although it's somewhat pricey for a cable, it is a quality, well thought out product.
Great Item!!! August 23, 2010 Lancaster (Norfolk, VA USA) This has been the only cable I've found so far that removed the buzzing noise from the TomTom car kit to my aux. jack on the car stereo.
Remarkable! August 27, 2010 A. Holland This seemingly simple cable solved a very annoying problem: a nasty hum underneath music when charging my media player in my car while listening to it at the same time. It is simple and works like a charm - GET IT if you have the same problem!
